How to Save & Export Files in PDFTape

Where your exported files go, how downloads work in the browser, and how to save anywhere on your Mac.

Overview

PDFTape never overwrites your original files. When you finish an operation, you export a brand new file. Where that file goes depends on whether you are using the browser app or the Mac app.

  1. 1

    Download in the browser

In the browser app, click Export. Your file downloads the same way any other browser download does. Nothing is stored on our servers.

If your operation creates multiple files, PDFTape packages them as a ZIP archive.

    Step 1
    Browser downloads the finished file
  2. 2

    Save on your Mac

In the Mac app, clicking Export opens the standard macOS save panel. Pick any folder, type a filename, and click Save.

    Step 2
Choose any folder on your Mac
  3. 3

    Find the file later

The Mac app keeps a list of recent exports on the home screen. Click any export to reveal it in Finder instantly.

    Step 3
    Reveal exports in Finder
Tip: Both apps process files on your device. The browser app stores nothing on disk unless you download the result; the Mac app saves only where you tell it to.
